Stardew Valley is set to release its 1.6 update on Mar. 19, which will bring a variety of new features and fixes for players.
The update would bring color organization as well as a honeymoon feature, among others, to the highly popular farming role-playing game. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Eric Barone, the developer of the game, teased the color organization aspect of the update.

The 1.6 patch makes jelly, pickles, winds, and juices being colored based on the ingredient item that they were made from. Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, also accompanied his post with an image that showed off colorful pixelated jars and bottles that each represented different flavors and whatnot.
When the new update drops, it will make strawberry and blueberry jelly show a red and a blue jar, respectively. This means that players can finally start to color-code their chests, which is amazing if the lack of which was something that irked many players for years.
The game's developer has been teasing a variety of other new features and additions ahead of the highly-anticipated update. The new honeymoon feature will give recently married couples the chance to prevent spouses from succumbing to a week-long bedrest "due to being upset," according to GamesRadar.
Marrying a spouse in Stardew Valley provides players with a lot of benefits, including help with chores such as watering crops, feeding livestock, and cooking meals. However, married life can quickly turn sour if you let the spark of romance grow cold.

In the unofficial Stardew Valley wiki, it was noted that spouses can become unhappy if they are not treated well. This would then result in undesirable actions, including laying in bed all day and saying irritating things to their partners.
The new feature is supposedly trying to avoid a specific gameplay oddity, which is when a character marries the player's character and two days later starts having second thoughts. While seven days is still considered a relatively short time for rethinking marriage vows, it is a little bit more reasonable, said PCGamer.
A Series of New Features
Another update that the 1.6 patch will bring to Stardew Valley players is giving them a sapling of their fruit trees when they choose to cut them down. Some players viewed this change as a way to profit by planting numerous fruit trees; it was intended to be a quality-of-life tweak.
This is by allowing players to relocate their orchards much less of a chore compared to how it was previously done. Furthermore, the sapling that players receive will have the same maturity as the tree that it was cut from.
ConcernedApe's responses to questions suggest that the change does not mean that the replanted fruit tree will immediately yield the same quality of fruit that it was produced before it was cut down. However, it will soon regrow, much quicker than before, and eventually be back to where it was previously.
The 1.6 update was initially announced last year and it marked the first new content for Stardew Valley after a long while. At the time, ConcernedApe also said that they were taking a bit of a break from the development of their follow-up cozy RPG, Haunted Chocolatier, to bring the latest patch to players, according to Kotaku.
