Enhanced Detection Systems Lead to Ban Wave

The crackdown was facilitated by Team Ricochet, the anti-cheat system employed by Activision. Through upgraded detection systems, the team was able to identify and subsequently ban thousands of accounts engaged in cheating activities. In a statement provided to gaming news outlet CharlieIntel, Team Ricochet acknowledged the success of the operation while hinting at further actions in the future.

"We identified and banned over 27,000 accounts over the weekend through a series of upgraded detection systems. The team is progressing on a new set of security updates and anticipates more ban waves to come," stated Team Ricochet.

Controversy Surrounds Bans

The ban wave coincides with the launch of season three for both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. However, amidst the enforcement efforts, there have been claims of false bans. Several streamers, including notable figures like BAMS, have alleged wrongful permanent bans. While some individuals on social media platforms have voiced concerns that innocent players have been caught in the crossfire, Activision has refrained from commenting on specific ban cases.
