'God of War' Creator Calls Prime Video Series First Look 'Terrible' After Kratos Reveal

That first look of Kratos already drew flak from the game's creator.

The original "God of War" creator, David Jaffe, has called out Amazon Prime Video's series adaptation of the video game, going as far as calling it "terrible" after the studio released the first look at the series.

It has only been less than a week since Amazon MGM Studios unveiled the first look at the production of the adaptation, showing off actual character costumes and makeup for Kratos and Atreus.

'God of War' Creator Calls Prime Video Adaptation 'Terrible'

Jaffe shared a new video on his YouTube channel where he shared his reaction to the first look image shared by Amazon MGM Studios of the upcoming video game adaptation of "God of War."

It seems Jaffe was not that impressed with the first look image shared by the Amazon MGM team, calling it "terrible." The creator also went as far as to say that it is "so bad in so many ways" but refrained from criticizing the actors, costumes, and makeup.

The creator focused more on the decision of Amazon to use the image they shared towards the end of February, which depicts Kratos seemingly taking a dump in the woods while watching his son, Atreus, shooting an arrow.

Jaffe mocked Ryan Hurst's expression and pose, going as far as to say that it "just looks stupid." The "God of War" maker went on to say that this is not a good look for the show, especially as it is the supposedly first glimpse of the series.

'God of War' Series First Look Draws Criticisms

Apart from Jaffe's negative reaction to the reveal, GameRant shared that fans have shared their negative sentiments about the project as well.

According to the report, fans have criticized the casting of Hurst as Kratos and the recent first look image, with fans now attacking his beard.

That said, Jaffe did not get ahead of himself and said in the video that he still has faith in "God of War" series showrunner, Ronald D. Moore, saying that it will turn out to be a good show.
