'FIFA 14' Ultimate Team World Cup Mode Release Delayed [VIDEO]

FIFA 14 Ultimate Team World Cup Mode Release Delayed

EA Sports recently announced an unexpected update for FIFA 14's Ultimate Team mode, planning to add a World Cup section to the game with new international player cards and kits in an update today. They have now announced that this update is delayed due to unforeseen complications.

The mode was going to add unique international versions of the world's best players, along with kits and badges, in an entirely separate World Cup section of FUT. You could spend coins from the normal version in the game, but none of the players are transferrable between the two segments of FUT. EA outlined the delay on its forums:

"To ensure the best possible experience, we have decided to delay the launch of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup (PC/PS3/PS4/360/XB1) and the World Cup Kick-Off mode (XB1/PS4).

"Knowing that our players have been so excited for these new modes made it a tough decision. However, as we progressed through final testing we encountered unforeseen issues that would affect all users who downloaded the update, so it's important to address them first before release.

"Our team is currently working hard to have the update ready to release in the coming days. On Thursday evening (EU time) we will keep you updated on our progress. Be sure to follow @EASPORTSFIFA for further updates on FUT World Cup and World Cup Kick-Off."

There is no exact date for the planned release now, as the developers likely do not wish to pin themselves to a specific expectation should something go wrong again, but it will be ready in the next few days.
