PayPal On PS4 Now Available For Use Through The PlayStation Store On Your Console And Online

Electronic payment service PayPal is now available on PlayStation 4, Sony announced.

PayPal was made available on PS3 just last year, so the new console will be offering the service for much more of its lifetime than its predecessor. You can select the service as a payment method by logging into your PSN account on the Sony Entertainment Network site, and it can be used to directly purchase content when browsing the PlayStation store on your console.

Instructions and details can be found on the PlayStation Knowledge Center support site, which explains how to fund your PS wallet with your PayPal account. If you're having trouble, there are step-by-step directions and images to help you find what you're looking for.

The service is only available on PS4 to North America and parts of South America right now (U.S., Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina), so those in Europe and other regions around the world will have to wait. Logically PayPal will be coming to other continents at some point, but there is no official word from Sony as of now.

Not that it's necessarily going to happen again, but after the major PSN security breach in the past, some may be relieved to be able to use PayPal through the store rather than input their credit card information. Unfortunately in today's world, your digital information is always potentially at risk, and many are more comfortable minimizing the likelihood their details and account info get into the wrong hands.
