'Fable Legends' E3 2014 Trailer Shows Off Co-Op Multiplayer, Puts Players In Villain's Role [VIDEO]

'Fable Legends' E3 Trailer Shows Off Co-Op Multiplayer, Put Players In Villain's Role

The latest chapter in the Fable franchise had its first trailer reveal at E3 and it's shaping itself up to be, if not the best Fable game, certainly the best Fable game you and your friends can play. And if you aren't too social, or you don't like your friends that much, well, Lionhead studios has got your back.

Project Spark E3 Trailer Puts You In Control

Looking for a new perspective on gaming, Lionhead, is introducing the villain mode into Fable. In it, a player may now assume the role of the antagonist and set traps and battles for the heroes "like a malevolent god". No two encounters need ever be the same again. You can hone your ultimate villain skills like never before here. The game is meant for five players at once, but if you're a loner (like me) the computer will step in and fill the roles of your fellow companions, the heroes or the antagonist.

The game will be less moralistic village interaction, such as buying property, alignment shifts and whatnot and more straight up hack n slash dungeon crawler. Extensive customization of weapons and items will be available, as always. But it will be gorgeous. Legends is going to run off the Unreal 4 engine, continuing the tradition of gorgeous looking, quasi-British landscapes. Expect the cheeky humor from previous games to make a solid appearance as well.

Forza 5 And Forza Horizon 2 Trailer

Legends is a prequel game, taking place some 400 years before the events of the first game in a time when heroes were a rare thing.

The game will rely heavily on cloud based computing, so alas, there will be no offline support. Which makes sense, given Lionhead's commitment to the co-op gameplay. No word on a release date yet for Fable Legends, I just hope it's soon.
