'FIFA 15' Gameplay Trailer E3 2014: First Look At New Graphics And Ball Control Mechanics, Field Gets Damaged As You Play [VIDEO]

EA revealed the initial FIFA 15 footage at its E3 conference, as it promised it would in last week's teaser clip, and we've learned about the new gameplay and graphics features for the first time.

NHL 15 First Gameplay Trailer Revealed

The game will use the Ignite Engine, which powers all of EA Sports' titles on the new generation of consoles. FIFA 14 was split across two console generations, and was a very similar game on both platforms, with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions offering improved crowds and upgraded graphics.

The new iteration looks noticeably better, as expected, with the field and player models looking better than before. The field will also get marked up by boots and sliding tackles for the first time, remaining damaged as you contest a match. Players look more like their real-life counterparts, and there's a big drive to "feel the game", such as the new "Emotional Intelligence" meant to highlight the passion that goes hand-in-hand with football.

Iterative upgrades are a given, and hopefully the biggest increase will be in the gameplay. To that point, EA has focused on improved player control that allows you to have more precise cuts and touches. Combined with reworked ball physics, you're meant to have greater command of your player and the ball than before, and a new physics engine for when players come in contact and try to body one another off the ball should make it more realistic.

The two videos below show off the different segments of the reveal, the first demonstrating the new gameplay features and mechanics at work. The next is a cinematic trailer, featuring dramatic narration alongside real-life clips and gameplay sequences.
