‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Trailer Shows Off Redcliffe Castle In New E3 Gameplay Demo [VIDEO]

The Snark Is Strong With Your Companions In This New Dragon Age: Inquisition Video

Today sees the release of the second E3 gameplay video for the long-awaited third installment of the Dragon Age saga. Mike Laidlaw guides us through a Redcliffe Castle quite different from the one you may remember from Dragon Age: Origins.

Dragon Age: Inquisition E3 Gameplay Video: Fereldan Hinterlands

Rather than the majestic place of rest you left behind in the first game (well, I did, dunno what you messed up) Redcliffe Castle in Dragon Age: Inquisition is a demon-haunted, shade-infested ruin. In the video, the well-known Dragon Age dialogue wheel is highlighted, showing us that the Dragon Age 2 style of communication is still in operation. That means fist icon for an aggressive response, a crown for a noble response etc etc.

Some companion interaction is also showcased, with Laidlaw taking a step back from providing commentary to give way to the unfolding storyline and the ever-witty banter between party members. Fans of Leliana will be pleased to see her snapping necks with her thighs as if this were the classic 1995 Mortal Kombat. Iron Bull showcases Freddie Prinze Jr's growing gusto as a voice actor. Keep hiring this guy, Bioware.

Introducing Dragon Age Companion Cullen

As shown in the previous vid, Tactical Mode is back, but this time Laidlaw shows us the full extent of its features and capabilities in a boss fight with a Tevinter mage gone mad. A nice new addition is the marking of foes' strengths and weaknesses. This particular mage was immune to fire, for instance. Cool beans!

Is it October 7 yet? Perhaps I shall step into this strange green tear in reality that just opened up. I don't see how it could transport me anywhere but to the date of release of that video game I like! Goodbye, dear readers! See you at Dragon Age: Inquisition's release!
