iPhone 6 Photos Leaked, Show High-Quality Shell With Embossed Apple Logo And Protruding Camera Lens

New images of the supposed iPhone 6 casing (the smaller, 4.7-inch model to be precise) have emerged online, giving some clues of the high-quality shell that will encase the device that were previously unknown.

September Apple Event Will Reveal iPhone 6, Could Launch Same Day

MacRumors published the images, which were provided to it by Russian retailer Feld & Volk, who acquired the pieces. Among the photos, which you can see below, are multiple hints at the shape of the device and buttons, including a feature that fans may not love.

First, the embedded Apple logo appears to be back, something that hasn't been used since the original iPhone. Feld & Volk says the metal used is incredibly scratch-resistant, calling it "very extraordinary", and speculating that it may be a Liquidmetal alloy (though it seems to be just that--speculation).

iPad Air vs iPad 4 Similarities, Differences And Features Of Each Device

Another feature you can glean from the images are reshaped volume buttons, which seem to be more recessed. This will perhaps lessen accidental button presses, and could also just serve to slim the overall profile of the device. You can also see pictures of the full case in the image above, along with an unknown flex cable.

The feature that may bother users, though, is the camera lens. It appears to protrude from the back of the device, rather than being flush with the rest of the phone. This would create a rocking effect when laid on a flat surface, and in general isn't a design choice that's favorable among consumers. The past lenses have been flush, so I'm not sure why Apple would switch to this design.

The details will be revealed on Apple's media event September 9, which could also be the launch day for the iPhone 6 (a simultaneous unveiling and launch are not uncommon), so stay tuned for more news as we approach that date.
