Nintendo Gamescom Video Montage Shows Off 17 Current And Upcoming Wii U Games; All The Fun, None Of The Fat Of A Typical Con Presentation

Nintendo may not have had an on-site conference at this year's Gamescom, but just like at E3, they didn't need to be there to have their presence felt. The world's oldest, most successful video game company is beyond having to show off with elaborate presentations and whatnot.

Nintendo eShop Games And Sales For The Week

Besides, at the end of the day, didn't we only really get about 10 minutes of game footage from the Microsoft and Sony conferences? And in between was a bunch of dudes (yes, all dudes) talking about stuff? The far more sensible approach is just releasing the footage of every major release coming to your flagship console in one long supercut.

Which is precisely what Nintendo did.

Ghirahim Gets A Trailer For Hyrule Warriors

The 8.5 minute sizzle reel is chock full of Nintendo titles both current and upcoming. There's nothing you haven't seen before, no new revelations, but there is something satisfyingly convenient about having all of them in one place. Maybe you'll see something you were previously unaware of.

The full list of titles featured are, in order:

Hyrule Warriors - which released in Japan today and will be on US shores in September.

Sonic Boom - get it? Looks fun, but we can do without the voice work.

Mario Kart 8 - great game? Or greatest game?

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker - due out next year

Art Academy - you can finally learn to draw. Who said video games don't teach anything?

Splatoon - which just looks like pure joy in a paint can.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Breeze - how did I not know about this beforehand?

Bayonetta 2 - the U has got some hardcore choices, too.

Super Smash Brothers - the most anticipated game of the Wii U holiday season

Yoshi's Woolly World - I take it back, this is the most adorable thing

Mario Maker - finally, you can make that Mario map filled with nothing but coins

Mario vs Donkey Kong - another title I was unaware of, seems like a cross between the classic Donkey Kong arcade cabinet and Lemmings.

Xenoblade Chronicles - the next chapter in the sci-fi series

Super Mario 3D World - which if you haven't played it yet is one of the best modern updates of the classic Mario formula

Kirby - maybe this is actually the cutest thing?

Mario Party 10 - from what I hear, it may actually be one of the most worthwhile entries into the series.

The Legend Of Zelda - the one we're all waiting for.
