Got your ticket for the New York Comic Con? Cosplayer? You better get your costume ready- as thousands of fans will turn in (and millions more will live stream online) for the first inaugural NYCC Eastern Championships of Cosplay contest.
Dota 2 Tournament To Take Place In NYC's Madison Square Garden
It will take place in the NYCC this October. Win this competition and you'll be crowned the "Eastern Champion of Cosplay", not a role to be taken lightly. The champ will represent the entire East Coast in the C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay finals, which will take place in Chicago in April 2015
"The Crown Championships of Cosplay began in Chicago last year, and we're excited to now introduce this new leg of our Cosplay tournament here," said Lance Fensterman, Global Senior Vice President of ReedPOP. "We love the evolution and growth of our contests -- we've seen the best Chicago has to offer, and we look forward to expanding this now to reward the passion, dedication and craftsmanship of Cosplayers around America... and ultimately the planet."

You can only enter one costume into the competition, so make sure you pick your best one. Accepted contestents will be pre-judged off-stage to make sure you're worthy of the competition (you can't go on stage unless you are!) and those that make it though will be able to display their craft on the Main event stage. All entries must represent a character or element from pop culture. The five categories you can try for include Comic Books, Movies & Television, Video Games, Anime & Manga, and Fantasy.
