Capcom has announced a bold new direction for Resident Evil: Revelations 2, breaking up the newest game in the long-running survival horror series into four separate episodes, each of which will end on a dramatic cliff-hanger.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 Live-Action Teaser Shows Return Of First-Person Enemy Scanning?
Resident Evil Revelations was technically episodic, in that it was broken up into seperate chapters, but it was much more similar to something like Alan Wake or Alone in the Dark. It all came as part of one package in one game, although it did jump from one character's story to the other.
This sequel will be the real deal, with one episode releasing each week and offering you a few hours of gameplay at a time, hopefully leaving you ready for more at the end.
The First Gameplay Trailer For The Resident Evil HD Remake Is Stunning
The currently untitled first episode will start with Claire Redfield returning to the series after a long hiatus. She now works for anti-bioterrorism organization Terra Save alongside Moira Burton. (If that name is familiar, yes, she is Barry Burton's daughter.) While attending Moira's welcoming party unknown forces storm the office, and they are knocked out, only to awaken inside an abandonded detention facility.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 will hit PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC early 2015.
