The next update to Clash of Clans is not out yet. I know, I know, I was hoping it would be there, too. Just a little while longer.

In the meantime, though, the official Clash of Clans Facebook page has posted the latest video previewing the new Dark Barracks unit, the Lava Hound. The video comes by way of the PlayClashOfClans Youtube channel, one of the largest CoC series on the entire internet. It is presented "without comment" and simply shows the new flying unit in action.
Though I am still many levels (and lord knows how many months) away from being able to utilize the tiny winged magma creature, I am still quite excited. Air assaults in Clash of Clans have been effective, but never overly dominant. A good air defense placement can make short work of all but the most overwhelming of forces, often before they even get to the opponent's town hall.

That should all change with the Lava Hound, who will act less like a flying battleship and more like a zeppelin; he'll slowly lumber over the battlefield and attract all the attention. And also like another famous zeppelin, he'll explode into a thousand tiny, fiery pieces upon destruction. Too soon?
We also get a slight preview of the level 13 Archer Tower in the footage. Though obviously not the focus of the piece, it shows a very packed tower letting the enemy have it. It is hard to keep track once the madness begins, but the new towers should provide a little of the Mutually Assured Destruction-type escalation that Clash of Clans so prides itself on.
