You can keep your XIVs, your XVs, your XV parts 2 and 3 and anything else that may come from the venerable Final Fantasy series. Final Fantasy IV is better than any of these modern entries, and a remastered version is out now on Steam.

Lightning Strikes PC: FF XIII Hits Steam

The game was originally released on the SNES in 1991 and titled Final Fantasy II. It told the story of Cecil as he tries to prevent the destruction of the world by the dark sorceror Golbez. Though the fourth entry into the series, it is considered the benchmark for nearly every future Final Fantasy games copied. IV introduced the Active Time Battle System, the stellar workings of composter Nobuo Uematsu, locked but upgradable character classes and the kind of epic storytelling we've come to recognize as Final Fantasy.

There game is frequently cited as one of the greatest RPG titles of all time, having landed on IGN's top 100 list on two separate occasions.

The Steam version has been optimized for PC gaming, including all new remastered 3D visuals. It also features refreshed audio and the voiceovers that were added from the 2006 remake. The game incorporates new features such as Steam Trading Cards and Achievements.
