Assassin's Creed Unity In-Game Cinematic Reveals New Story Details, Shows Off Game's Stunning Graphics [VIDEO]

Ubisoft Reveals Arno's Past And How He Learned To Fight In A New Assassin's Creed Unity In-Game Cinematic

A new in-game cinematic from Assassin's Creed Unity was posted over on the Assassin's Creed UK YouTube channel, and it gives viewers quite a bit of insight as to the background of Unity protagonist Arno, as well as showing off the game's smooth graphics.

New Far Cry 4 Trailer Shows Off The Many Weapons Of Kyrat

The trailer finds Arno thrown in prison with no explanation as to how he got there. It's there where he meets the man who teaches him to fight and who might even be the man who introduces him to the Assassin Brotherhood. The trailer shows that, over the course of a couple months, this other prisoner turns Arno from a clumsy novice into a competent swordsman. In the middle of a lesson, the two are interrupted by a commotion from outside the prison.

This is where things get interesting (and maybe a little bit spoiler-y).

More Details About Assassin's Creed Unity's Customization System

Ubisoft has said for a while that Arno would get to witness all of the most pivotal events of the French Revolution, including the storming of the Bastille. Judging by the trailer, though, it seems as if Arno will be watching this particular event from inside the Bastille. The Bastille prison was holding only a handful of prisoners on the day when commoners breached its walls, and it seems like Arno will be one of them. It's an interesting twist if this turns out to be the case, having an Assassin's Creed protagonist watch a major historical event from the other side of a wall.

Video content notwithstanding, though, the in-game cinematic mostly proves how beautiful Unity's next-gen engine looks, something we would hope to see from the next evolution of the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Assassin's Creed Unity is set to hit the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 11.
