Boom Beach Update Goes Live: Task Forces Added, UI Improvements, Dr. Terror Buffs And More Added To Supercell's Latest Addiction

The Boom Beach Update Invades Your Mobile Device Like Its Assaulting France: Task Forces, UI Changes And Dr Terror Buffs Come With It

Gear up, load up and ship out. The new update for Boom Beach has invaded your mobile device and it will leave no prisoners. This is war, after all.

A Breakdown Of The Clash Of Clans Halloween Update

The new update introduces the full Task Force multiplayer battle groups. Now players can join forces and assault the Blackguard bases via the new Operations mode, which lets each player attack the same base to gather intel (so they can attack more bases).

But the update is so much more than that. A lot of minor tweaks and performance issues have been made to make your Booming (or Beaching? I've heard it both ways) a more enjoyable experience. More enjoyable, and more addictive, too.

Higher level players will notice that Dr. Terror, the equivalent to the final boss, has gotten buffed. He now possess a great deal of Shock Launchers and even has his own Ice Statues, the sonofa...Supercell was finding that people were too easily clearing the baddie's 20 levels of pain in little more than 15 minutes, twice per week. That can create a severely unbalanced economy, and plus, at that point, it's no longer a challenge.

A wealth of balancing issues have also been introduced, especially ones affecting the rate of Diamonds you can acquire. Treasure chests don't spawn as often, while Dive Locations will spawn more often. Shorter build times for high level building upgrades, but more expensive Diamond speedups to balance the build times. And resource purchases do not cost as many Diamonds anymore, since the rest of the game has been rebalanced.

Additionally, when just chilling, cruising the high seas, looking for bases to attack:

Even faster invasion rate when the map has fewer opponents (meaning more bases to attack when your map is clear). Slower invasion rate when the map has lots of opponents. To balance the above two points, your map won't be able to house as many total invasions at any one time (which means a less overwhelmingly full map at times). I will say I am happy about that last one; at times it seems like no matter how much enemy territory I clear, I keep losing ground.

A few UI improvements have also come into play:

- The #1 player's gold badge gets better with age!
- The longer you hold the top spot, the cooler your badge will become
- Tap a player's gold badge to see more info
- Gunboat abilities have handy countdown timers where they land (thanks for this great suggestion, forumers!)
- Armory usability improvements
- Extra hint for Power Stone popover if the Sculptor hasn't been built
- Online warning is now a less intrusive clickable icon (this appears after being online for 4 hours in a 24 hour period), because being less intrusive is precisely what playing for 240 minutes requires.
- Enemy Activity no longer auto-opens when entering the map screen

See you on the Beach. Enjoy the new Task Forces everybody!
