Good morning all you Clashers. You may have noticed that Clash of Clans was down for maintenance earlier this morning. That can mean only one thing: the Halloween update is here.
New Pokemon iOS Card Game Released
Though this update is not as epic as say, adding Clan Wars or even all the new units that have been sprinkled over the year, it still makes some fun, if minor, tweaks to the game. We do get a new defensive building in the Skeleton Trap, so it's not all numerical upgrades and Social modifications.
The Skeleton Trap is a new and permanent addition to your defensive arsenal. The building becomes available at Town Hall Level 8, and yes, it can be upgraded to deploy more skeletons at once. The desiccated corpses can be set to attack either air or ground, so you can mix and match your defenses to whatever threat you may be facing.
Boom Beach Operations Coming As Part Of The Next Update
Supercell is emphasizing the Treat in 'trick or treat'. The 1 Gem boost for the Spell Factory has returned, so you can support your troops even faster now. This runs until the end of the Halloween weekend. Additionally, you can remove the new obstacle, the Headstone, and score not just gems, but some bonus elixir as well. If you find your village getting a wee bit too large for its confines, with so many colors running amok and you really, really need to boost some production buildings for an upcoming battle, fear not: you can now boost all buildings of the same type with a single click. Dangerous? Oh you bet.
One of my favorite additions is that Hero, Spell and Barracks boosts will no longer play through any maintenance breaks and will pause when they occur. Maximum value!
For the Clash of Clanners actually in a clan, recruitment just became that much easier. Clan leaders can adjust several new variables in their clan description, from war frequency, location, member count and minimum level and their descriptions can even be longer now. Plus, if you're up for it and can remember a long string of numbers, there's a new hashtag function so you can search for precisely the clan you want.
Additionally, there have been several small changes to the loot earned from League battles.
- Get at least 20% more Gold, Elixir and Dark Elixir from Clan Wars, win or lose!
- Keep more of your war loot even if your Clan doesn't win the Clan War - more like Clash of Little League, amirite?
- Store more war loot in your Clan Castle - very excited about this one.
- Get a bigger League bonus from winning multiplayer battles in all Leagues
The Halloween update also adjusts a few minor interface features:
- New Mortar at Town Hall 8
- Player profile now shows the highest unlocked level of a player's troops, heroes and spells!
- The Hero icons will now show Hero ability status also in replays
- Army camp contents are now visible to visitors in the Army Camp info screen
- Time to remove obstacles is now lower
