The watch boasts a curved OLED screen and cellular radio service, meaning that the price will most likely be on the higher end. Samsung is allowing the carriers to announce the price: T-Mobile set the Gear S at $349.99, while Sprint has it listed at $384. Verizon and AT&T's pricing should fall within the same ballpark, but the cost can clearly differ.

The carriers will sell the device in stores, and Samsung's Best Buy shops will also offer the Gear S. The device is appealing for its individual cell service, meaning that it will not need a connected smartphone to operate calls, send and receive emails, or check your apps. It will require a different phone number that your smartphone, and will need its own service plan.

The good news is that providers seem to be offering better deals for the device: T-Mobile has a monthly $5 plan for "unlimited data and texting with up to 500 MB of data", while Sprint will remove the fee normally required to add a device to the network. Verizon and AT&T will likely offer similar plans given the high cost of device--only enthusiasts are likely to be after this one at full retail cost.
