Assassin's Creed Unity Update: Upcoming Patch Will Fix Clipping, Co-op Crashes But Not Frame Rate Yet

Assassin's Creed Unity Has A Patch In The Works That Takes Care Of Some, But Not All, Pressing Issues

Assassin's Creed Unity's launch hasn't gone swimmingly, but issues look to be getting fixed one by one. The Uplay connectivity problems many users were facing should be gone by now, at least according to the Ubisoft Support Twitter account, but there are still plenty of issues left to go. Ubisoft recently announced an in-progress patch that should take care of some of the players' most asked-for fixes, but some will have to wait until a future patch.

The First Major Problem Unity Players Faced Was The Syncing Issue With Assassin's Creed Initiates

This upcoming patch takes care of some of the game-breaking glitches that have popped up during this launch week. Several videos have emerged of protagonist Arno Dorian clipping through the ground and falling endlessly into the abyss that apparently lives a couple feet below the city of Paris. The upcoming patch plans on fixing that, as well as an issue where Arno would get trapped after jumping into a hay cart.

The other two fixes mentioned in the patch post were a fix for an issue where the game would crash when a player tried to set up the game's much-advertised co-op play and a fix for slow boot-up times that players were reporting.

Ubisoft notes that the game does have a sizable Day One patch, so if you don't normally have your console hooked up to the Internet, you might want to connect for a little bit just to get the benefits of this original update.

After describing the upcoming patch, Ubisoft's post also notes a couple of other fixes that the developers are planning to implement in subsequent patches but will not be in the upcoming update. These include fixes for the wide-spread frame rate issues that players are experiencing and some graphical fixes, hopefully regarding the pop-in texture problems that have come up. They also plan to look at issues with both co-op matchmaking and the Helix Credit system, the game's microtransaction market.

Assassin's Creed Unity is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
