Super Smash Bros For Wii U News: Character Reveal Videos All Available For Viewing Within The Game

Super Smash Bros Wii U will be largely similar to the 3DS version in terms of gameplay, characters, and stages, but there are notable differences between the two as well.

The 3DS version had been the focus of most reveals leading up to its launch--the largest info dump for the Wii U edition was delivered recently in a livestream. The reveals included the board game-style Smash Tour: World Smash, eight player battles, playable Mewtwo, and more.

Today's daily update is perhaps one of the smaller additions we've seen (the last few days have been dominated by the reveals of new maps), but it's yet another feature offered in the Wii U version. Sakurai has revealed that all of the character introduction videos we usually watched during live streams can be viewed in high definition within the game.

The picture above shows the library of videos you can view, some of which were entertaining and well-done beyond just serving their purpose as a character reveal. In today's post, series director Masahiro Sakurai lamented the quality of some of the live streams, and is happy to offer the videos again the "way they were meant to be" on Wii U.

You can watch for any details or announcements you may have missed in the "50 Fact Extravanganza" video below. While the new stages are not in the video (they were revealed in these Miiverse posts, after all), it contains a look at the stage builder and the many other features mentioned above. Super Smash Bros for Wii U is due out November 21.
