Shadowgate Update Gives You Original Shadowgate And Deja Vu MacVenture Games For Free: Screens And How To Find Them!

Buy Shadowgate And Get Two Free Retro Games

This is the weekend to buy Shadowgate. Since its release, Zojoi has reworked the experience to make it even better for players, improving the UI and even offering a new "Dread Pumpkin" quest for Halloween. It's a remarkable amount of attention for a remastered title that simply could have been dumped on the world and made fans happy.

This weekend though, they've outdone themselves even further. Current and new owners of Shadowgate will not only get the beloved remake of the classic game (by the original developers!), but two extra retro titles.

You'll earn the original version of Shadowgate as well as the detective adventure game Déjà Vu: A Nightmare Comes True, the latter a game we're personally hoping gets the remake treatment sooer rather than later. These two games were part of the four original MacVenture games (it also included Uninvited and Deja Vu II: Lost in Last Vegas) that were developed for the Apple Macintosh before being ported to everything from the Amiga to the NES.

You'll be able to play these two games as two different ports as well, the original 128k Mac version as well as the (colorized!) Apple IIgs versions.

The original Shadowgate is no joke. As developer Zojoi doesn't hesitate to point out themselves, if you think the remake is hard, just try the original. It won't hesitate to kill you in any numbers of brutal ways. If nothing else, it's worth playing just to see how much the game has changed in the many years since its release.

Déjà Vu is a much more modern story than the fantasy-tinged Shadowgate and puts you in the role of a private eye who's been framed for murder, having woken up with amnesia near a corpse.

For those of you who pick it up on Steam- the games won't appear in your library and can be tricky to find. To install them you'll first have to find them in the Shadowgate folder on your computer. Here are the locations:

Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Shadowgate\Retro

Mac:
User/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Shadowgate/Shadowgate

To celebrate this deal the new version of Shadowgate is a mere $6.99 this weekend- down from $19.99- for both PC and Mac, for a limited time. Don't pass this up! Check out www.shadowgate.com for more.
