Driveclub's latest patch, now live, adds in extreme weather options to its race tracks, adding a new level to gameplay and giving us some gorgeous new screenshots to boot.

The 1.08 update for the PlayStation 4 exclusive is now live for players to download. It won't be a quick install for everyone, though. Thanks to the new features, the update weighs in at a full 1.4 GB, so plan to download the patch before you actually feel like playing.

The biggest new feature in Driveclub's update is the addition of extreme weather effects. Now, when you set up a race either online or offline, you can choose to turn on dynamic weather effects like downpours, thunderstorms and blizzards. People have already flocked to Twitter to show off their best screencaps using the new effects. Setting up a street race in heavy rain might be dangerous, but as it turns out, it's pretty beautiful as well.

The update also adds in two new tracks that could really take advantage of the new snow mechanics. The Atlanterhavsvegen in Norway and Canada's Sinclair Pass both offer real-world locations that likely hold their fair share of extreme driving weather in real life.

The 1.08 patch added in a couple of improvements that were sourced from the community, like the ability to access Club Cars and Club Paint Jobs while offline. Developer Evolution Studios also used this update's patch notes to tease some of the Driveclub DLC coming later this month. These include the free Mazzanti Evantra car and the premium Redline Expansion Pack, which comes with five new cars, 11 events and five trophies.

Driveclub is now available for PS4.
