Goat Simulator Mobile Update Coming, iOS And Android Versions Will Get Goat City Bay And New Characters

Goat Simulator's existence on smartphones may well be exciting enough for some, but the developers plan to continue adding to the mobile version of the game.

Touch Arcade pointed out news regarding a mobile updating that came via a Coffee Stain Studios blog post, which didn't get much attention at the time. The ridiculous sandbox title is available on iOS and Android, but is essentially a built-from-scratch version of the game--adding new content takes time.

"Our mobile team has been working on adding Goat City Bay and a ton of new goats to the iOS and Android version," the developers explained in the blog post. "It's just that it takes a really long time since we need to basically rebuild everything from scratch for it to even work on the mobile version. So it's not just to "put another map on mobile", it's months of optimizing, building and testing in a cycle that takes a really long time."

All of that said, they hope to be done with the update by the end of January 2015, so it's not too far off now. For the uninitiated, Goat Simulator is a game with no real objective in which you wander around environments using loosely-defined physics to create chaos as a goat. This includes running people over, licking everything in sight, and jumping off tall buildings.

Much of the content in this coming update will be additions made in PC patch 1.1, with some differences. Goat Simulator costs $4.99 on both the App Store and Google Play.
