Constantine Television News: Show May Moved From NBC to SyFy, Rebranded As Hellblazer [VIDEO]

Constantine May See New Life On A New Channel Under The Title Hellblazer

Things don't look good for Constantine on NBC but the show may have some fight in it yet. The show may be making a move to SyFy and be rebranded as Hellblazer.

In a rumor reported by Bloody Disgusting, the show, which hasn't had the kind of ratings the network would like to see, may get shifted to the channel's sister station so it can get a more fighting chance.

The move would allow the show to have darker storylines than what it is currently able to do on network television.

Although the comic that follows John Constantine on his morally ambiguous adventures is much loved by fans, this hasn't translated into the kind of ratings the network likes to see.

With a shift to the cable channel, they may be able to create a show that is closer to the source material and possibly give it a different time slot. The Friday night slot has been a questionable issue for the show since it started and a change in times may help it get more viewers.

Hellblazer is the name of the comic proper so making that change will bring it some strong brand recognition to the show and distance it a bit from the Keanu Reeves movie which although it had some really great scenes was over all a bit of a mess.

Constantine is gearing up to air its last episode this Friday at 8 on NBC. If it's not moved or picked up again, this will be all there is for the paranormal avenger.
