Highlander Remake Movie News: Dave Bautista To Chop Off Heads As Lead Villain

Wrestler Dave Bautista Will Be The Kurgan In New Highlander Remake

"There can be only one" does not extend to the Highlander movies. The iconic science fiction film is getting a remake with Dave Bautista taking the role of the villainous Kurgan.

Bautista, known for his time as a WWE star and most recently his role in Guardians of the Galaxy as Drax the Destroyer (a man who adorably does not understand sarcasm), will be taking the role of the Kurgan, main antagonist in the Highlander, reports Latino Review.

For those of you who have never seen Highlander, stop reading this, go watch the movie and then come back. Also, you should be ashamed of yourself.

New Texas Chainsaw Massacre Comes Back As Leatherface For Prequel

The Highlander follows Connor MacLeod one of many immortals roaming the planet. Instead of living in harmony, they battle to the death to be "the one". This isn't any of that Jet Li nonsense, if they manage to kill all the other immortals they win "the game" and get the ultimate prize. Don't want to ruin what that is for you.

The original Kurgan was played Clancy Brown who did an excellent job of being a vicious, immortal psychopath. With a very large sword.

The original movie came out 1986 and spawned two sequels and one TV show.

The new movie will be directed by Nicolas Troyan. There's no word on who will be playing the main role of MacLeod as of yet. Hopefully they don't mess with a good thing too much here. The original film is a classic. Please don't ruin this.
