'Mordheim: City Of The Damned' Patch Update: New Rune System Implemented Into Warhammer Early Access Title

'Mordheim: City Of The Damned' Enters Phase 5 Of Early Access, Introduces New Rune Enchanting System

Developer Rogue Factor has once again returned and it brings tidings of comfort and joy as their Warhammer adaptation, Mordheim: City of the   has entered into the fifth phase of its Early Access.

Square Enix's New Mobile RPG, Master Of Masks, Available Now

While no new warbands have entered the dark and wretched city, the Cult of the Possessed has been given a new ability. Now, whenever a unity levels up, it will receive some sort of random mutation (similar to the Chaos in the new Blood Bowl II trailer). This new mutation will add not only a visual element but also a boost to a random stat. For instance, "the 'thousand eyes' mutation not only gives a uniquely ocular aesthetic to the unit - one I suspect may involve a lot of eyes - but you'll get +10 for initiative as well."

Additionally, the much requested Rune system has finally been implemented and allows players to enchant and upgrade their weapons and armors. "You'll be able to test the multiple possibilities offered by these enchantments alongside the previously introduced high end gear. Talking about cool gear, you'll now see visual representation of the different armor sets of all units, thus making it easier to see their level of defense on the battlefield."

Communicating with your opponent or allies is now easier, with a new in-game chat option, too. Rogue Factor has listened to fans and added a combat log and other smaller changes to make a more exacting and pleasant experience.

Finally, there are two new maps - one standard and another procedurally generated take on the town for you to explore, learn and conquer.

From now until Monday, Mordheim: City of the Damned is on sale for 33% off over at its Steam page.
