Hearthstone Expansion Blackrock Spire Now Open: Learn How To Beat The New Bosses

Blackrock Spire, the third wing of Hearthstone's new expansion, Blackrock Mountain, is open and people have already run through it. Took less than an hour to clear it fully, which is great. Because that means we know what to expect.

The Hearthstone master Trump was, naturally, one of the first to take down the three bosses of the spire: Highlord Omokk, General Drakkisath and everyone's favorite (sarcasm) new Legendary card, Rend Blackhand.

Veteran World of Warcraft players will remember as 'those jerks from the original Upper Blackrock Spire' 10 man dungeon.

How To Do It Right At Max Level In Clash Of Clans

Trump, playing a Hunter, has little problem taking on Omokk, whose hero ability enables him to destroy damaged enemy minions. Not that Trump gives the boss any time at all; it's quite literally a 'face to face' battle, and Trump mows through him by the end of round 7. He makes it look very, very easy.

But, that's a Hunter for you.

I kid, Trump is quite accomplished in the arena. Drakkisath, on the other hand, has a very unique ability: every card now costs 1 mana, but you only have a max of 1. Certain cards can boost your mana total temporarily, which is why Trump plays a druid deck that features nothing but heavy hitters. Drakk is working with 50 life, up from the typical 30 and it's odd seeing such big creatures played so quickly. One didn't think it's possible to cut through a boss faster than Omokk, but somehow, Trump managed it.

And finally, Rend Blackhand The Disappointing. The elder Orc summons a trio of whelps to aid him, but then his hero power switches through a rotation, allowing him to get a lot of tiny minions out on the board very, very quickly. Trump takes his time, and his licks, before pouncing with his Grim Patron Warrior deck. It's a dogfight, with the ever shifting abilities of Rend stacking the board, keeping you on your toes. He even concedes the first match after getting blown out by a Revenge, but rallies in the second.

And for all your troubles with Rend, all you get is this 'eh' Legendary.

See you in the Tavern.
