Darkstar Legends 3D

Darkstar Legends 3D

A new browser MMORPG from MMOG Asia went live yesterday, June 18. The game uses top flash 3D technology and boasts exquisite graphics and stunning visual effects. The game features wings that are part of the characters' equipment and are unique to the three classes currently available: Knight, Mage and Archer.

The game revolves around the legend of three heroes who imprisoned and sealed a powerful demon king in the past. After gathering enough strength through the ages, the demon king sends his servants to the living world to break the seal and it's up to you to stop them. After choosing from the three available gender-locked classes, you are immediately thrown into the game.

While the game has fairly good graphics for a browser MMORPG, the whole experience itself is lackluster. It is expected that any game should have a fair amount of automation to keep players from getting bored while travelling in between NPC's and map locations, but Darkstar Legends take it to the next level. The automation takes over so much that the game itself requires little to no participation from you at all. If the game didn't require you to confirm rewards, dialogues (which no one reads) or accept quests, it could literally run by itself.

To be fair, the game at least doesn't require you to grind like a mindless zombie. The quests pretty much take care of the levelling you will need, but the fact that the game will fight, pick up items, use HP/MP pots and tell you when it's time to upgrade everything makes me wonder why I'm even there at all. The game progression is also too fast. Even at level 30, which only took less half an hour to reach, the amount of time it takes to get to the next level is still fairly minimal.

Maybe the game is a love it or hate it kind, but we'll try and reach end game levels just to see if it gets better. If you've tried the game, tell us what you think in the comments section!
