What We Know So Far: Nintendo NX

What We Know So Far: Nintendo NX

Approximately two years after Nintendo released its disappointing Wii U, the late Saturo Iwata finally revealed Nintendo's saving grace (hopefully). The Nintendo NX was unveiled during the E3 conference in June. Although there were no further details provided back then, it was enough to create a stir for their fans.

Although Nintendo is known to be reserved with regards to their current and future ventures, it is very hard for them to contain information most especially if the fans are clamoring for it. That being said, there were some information leaked outside the organization that so far paints the picture of what to expect for the upcoming Nintendo NX.

Some reports are claiming that the Nintendo NX will have an AMD mobile GPU and CPU with an 8GB of RAM processor, basically similar to Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One. This information basically gave experts and fans an idea that the Nintendo NX might follow the PlayStation and Xbox's lead. Also, there was a report that talked about a patent, the Nintendo previously applied for, about a controller that will have the ability to sync with any handheld devices. The patent also revealed that the controller will have two face buttons and two joysticks.

The patented controller contradicts the expert's claim that the NX will go back to the more conventional controller which will let players control the games like Super Smash Bros easier. Its ability to sync to any mobile devices is to be expected since Nintendo is also looking to go into mobile gaming, which they already started by introducing Pokémon go.

Of course, the console will be flat without the game itself, and this is why there are predictions that Nintendo will finally let third party game developers to enter their world. If that is the case, Nintendo will generate tons of money.

The 12 games that are predicted to grace the upcoming Nintendo NX are any games developed by Rare, Call of Duty, Red Dead Rebellion, FIFA 17, Metroid, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, Mass Effect, Pikmin 4, Pokémon, and of course new versions of legendary Nintendo titles Super Smash Bros., Legend of Zelda, and Super Mario.

Up until now, the only certainty is that Nintendo is in the production phase of the Nintendo NX itself and the opening of the pre-order window for the console in the future. That being said, all other speculations will remain as it is.

The Nintendo NX is set to be formally launched at next year's E3 conference. It is also expected for Nintendo to formally reveal the specs of the console at the event and also announce the formal release of the Nintendo NX, which is rumoured to be in 2017.
