Windows 8 Release Date: 10 Features Consumers Want to See in Tablets

By now, we all now know that Windows 8 will be released on Oct. 26, and will be used as an OS in many PCs and tablets. The OS will be designed to offer high-end experience on tablets.

Some tablet makers have announced that they will be using Windows RT, while others will use Windows 8 Pro. We can only hope that these slates come with a huge range of features on the wish list below in order to succeed and counter Apple's iPad.

1. Bigger Screen: Customers expect the tablets be bigger and more powerful, the 7-inch tablets have been successful as a result of the inexpensive price tag.

2. Design Innovation: Microsoft's Surface has had an innovative design coupled with VaporMg finish and kickstand. So in order to compete against these, tablet makers need to come-in with a new design.

3. Windows 8 Pro: Consumers will want to use Windows 8 Pro as the OS for their tablets since it supports all applications, has the latest features, and will be productive for office users. As for casual users Windows RT will be good.

4. Lots of Apps: There must be plenty of apps that cover a wide range of tasks.

5. Vendor Support must be Strong: Vendors need to work many companies to provide strong vendor support.

6. Pricing: The price tag must be competitive, give the consumer a reason not to buy a iPad. If tablet makers make it expensive, consumers won't buy.

7. Advanced Processors: It they are challenging the notebooks, they need to put advanced and powerful processors. Consumers will opt-out of the tablet if they find the processor is outdated.

8. Flash Storage: Flash storage offers a better experience than traditional hard drives, since they are quicker and malfunctions less.

9. 4G LTE: The tablets must be able to connect to Web from a mobile network. The future of connectivity is 4G LTE.

10. One Good Version: In the tablet business, different versions of the tablet will not help buyers. They want a single tablet that is reliable.
