'Yo-Kai Watch 2' First English Details Announced, Over 350 Yo-Kai Featured, North American Release Date

During the Nintendo Treehouse presentation at E3 2016, Nintendo and Level-5 provided the initial English details on the upcoming game, “Yo-Kai Watch 2.” The game is set to launch in two versions later in 2016.

The two versions of “Yo-Kai Watch 2” are Bony Spirits and Fleshy Bones, set to launch on Sept. 30, 2016 in North America. There will be over 350 new and returning Yo-kai to discover, battle and befriend. The game will also feature new towns to explore. Players will have to work with the heroic cat Yo-kai called Hovernyan, to travel back in time and rescue Springdale.

Gematsu noted that in “Yo-Kai Watch 2,” players also get to witness the origin of the Yo-kai, and look for new towns via train. There will be an all-new adventure in Springdale, with hundreds of Yo-kai to meet. Each Japanese spirit has a unique appearance, personality and Soultimate Moves. Players get to form their team, consisting of six Yo-kai via their Yo-kai Watch. The team gets to fight trouble-making Yo-kai, solve various problems as well as put an end to a civil war between competing Yo-kai factions.

Players can form teams and work with up to four other players in the all-new local multiplayer mode of “Yo-Kai Watch 2.” There may also be additional systems and games for multiplayer mode coming in the future, which will be sold separately. Players can challenge their friends’ team online or via local wireless in multiplayer battles, featuring two players.

“Yo-Kai Watch 2” features touchscreen-based battle actions that can have different effects, such as initiating Soultimate Moves, heal Yo-kai and purify inspitedYo-kai. Players get to ride trains to new towns and surrounding locations. They can visit San Francisco beside the sea and Harrisville, a village in the countryside. Players can travel back in time to know more about the beginnings of the Yo-kai Watch, as well as meet Classic Yo-kai from 60 years ago. It is also vital to check that the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero is created and that the timeline is maintained throughout.

Siliconera said that there will be three special Yo-kai that can be acquired using data from the original game. These include the Bunchinyan, Komasan and Noko. Later in 2016, gamers can collect, search for and connect real-world Yo-kai Watch Yo-Motion medals to use with the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero made by Hasbro. Codes at the back of the medals can be scanned to receive in-game content, such as items, bonuses and new Yo-kai.

More “Yo-Kai Watch 2” updates and details are expected soon.
