Xbox Live Gold Latest News & Updates: More Free Games Added! Game Prices & Features Revealed! [VIDEO]

Microsoft has added a couple of new titles to its “Xbox Live Gold” subscription for the month of June, adding “The Crew” and “XCOM: Enemy Unknown” to the Xbox One and Xbox360 respectively.

The two new game titles will succeed previous game titles offered for the first part of June - “Goat Simulator” and “Costume Quest 2” for the Xbox One and “Super Meat Boy” for the Xbox 360 which lapsed on June 15. The new titles come thus keep Microsoft’s practice of offering at least four free games per month per Game Spot.

With the two new titles, subscribers to the Xbox Live Gold program can look forward to new content, not to mention keeping them until their subscription runs out. Such is seen as a better offer to lure in gamers compared to the tactic that the PlayStation Plus offers.

Though the angle of payment is something that gamers may not still be open to embracing, the fact remains that Xbox Live Gold has offered them flexibility as far as playing classic titles thanks to its backward compatibility program.

This means that gamers who don’t own an Xbox 360 can still enjoy the classic game titles on their Xbox One console. To illustrate, take for example the case of “Mass Effect” and “Lost Odyssey” which are said to be joining the backward compatibility titles soon. Once available, gamers can play the two games even with the Xbox One.

Xbox Scorpio possibilities

As everyone knows, the next Microsoft game console is the Xbox Scorpio. Looking farther down the line, the backwards compatibility program should offer the same privilege meaning old game titles can still be enjoyed on the next game console per Cinema Blend.

“The Crew” will be available from June 16 to July 15 while “XCOM: Enemy Unknown” will be available from June 16 to 30.
