iPhone 7 Latest News, Rumors & Release Date: Apple Flagship Bundled With Earpods, Lightning Adapter! Impressive Features Unveiled! [VIDEO]

The iPhone 7 is expected to be thinner with the iteration of the 3.5 mm jack despite a previous leak hinting that the standard feature may still be around.

This was mentioned via previous post where Rock Fix posted some photos of the alleged iPhone 7 with 3.5 mm jacks in tow via the Lightning cable assembly having the headphone port still attached. Seeing that these were prototypes, the claim was rebuffed by most.

Lightning Adapter and 3.5 mm jacks included

With the iPhone 7 more than likely emerging without 3.5 mm headphone jacks, Mac Otakara may have just backed that belief following word that the iPhone 7 will come bundled with traditional 3.5 mm jacks plus a Lightning adapter.

The bundle would make a lot of sense in supporting the demise of the 3.5 mm jack for the iPhone 7, something that will allow Apple to make the next flagship thinner.

Though the added accessory could gain some resistance at first, the cost angle should ease all that since eventual iPhone 7 owners don’t have to go through the trouble of buying a separate adapter on their own.

With the 3.5 mm jack out, speakers to take its place?

While the whole idea of taking out the 3.5 mm jack was to make the iPhone 7 thinner, the usual slot will reportedly be taken up by an extra speaker per Apple Insider.

That change would be interesting though the report also adds that the speaker will be monaural and not the same stereo arrangement that was offered on the iPad Pro. Covering the two loudspeakers will be porthole-style grilles seen on current iPhone 6 series handsets.

With that settled, it will be interesting what (minimal) changes the iPhone 7 will have to offer. Expected to come with less changes, Apple has reportedly held off any major changes for its next flagship, reserving them for the iPhone 8 slated for next year.
