Good news for iPhone 5 fans ?
TechCrunch reported on Wednesday that "a trusted Verizon employee" confirmed that the telecommunications company issued "vacation blackout" from Sept. 21 to Sept. 30 to its employees giving an indication of the possible iPhone 5 release.
If we dig into history of Apple's product release timelines, previous launches of iPhones have followed the same format. So what we can expect is an announcement on Sept. 12 stating iPhones will become available in stores from Sept. 21. Last year, iPhone 4S was available for pre-orders just a week before it was to hit the stores.
But why is Apple releasing the new iPhone, dubbed iPhone 5 when it has not even been a year since iPhone 4S was released? and What might be the new features of iPhone 5?
It's probable that the new iPhone will have a 4-inch display, which was previously a 3.5 screen according to The Wall Street Journal. It also reported that the new apple product may have a thinner screen.
Apple acquiring AuthenTec was a step for better content security with rumours of the possible inclusion of fingerprint technology in iPhone 5.
Near-field communication could be included in the new iPhone making mobile wallet available.
Reuters reported that Apple product will have smaller 19-pin dock connector, moving away from the 30-pin dock connector which is in the present iPhones and the headphone jack will move to the bottom of the iPhone.
PC World reported that there is a possibility of Qualcomm chip usage in iPhone 5, leading to the support of 4G LTE service.
Apple will use new mobile operating system for iPhone 5.
The prices of the existing iPhones have been slashed by retailers but this will be useless as fans will wait till the iPhone 5 is released.
