'The Leftovers' Season 3 Air Date, Plot, News & Update: Upcoming Installment Will Be the Last? Spoilers, Predictions, Other Details Revealed

There must be some sort of an apocalypse, somewhere within the Earth's core, but that's not happening now, at least not when HBO just ordered "The Leftovers" Season 3 and probably the final one in the whole series.

According to Variety, the critically responded show is heeding the comments of the people and that's why they decided to make another run of it, but sees to it that it will be the last from the series.

Michael Lombardo, HBO's programming president lauded the work of creators' Tom Perrotta and Damon Lindelof. In his short but inspiring statement, Lombardo said he admire and supports Lindelof's artistic and creative nature.

"The Leftovers" has an unprecedented and unrivaled original story airing on HBO and he essentially pointed out how the show gave HBO one of the most followed series in the network.

Garnering a consistent number of followers during its previous seasons, it was during the last two episodes of The Leftovers Season 2 that the show literally picked up some audience. Lindelof on the other hand thanks the whole management of HBO for allowing him and his team to create the storyline they think will pick up the most numbers of followers.

"The Leftovers" currently stars Justin Theroux, Christopher Eccleston, Amy Brenneman and Liv Tyler. With the storyline starting to shape and the cast meaning to continue "The Leftovers" Season 3, viewers are left with the one thing they're most excited about and that's the final release date of the series.

Currently, there's no date set for the final release of "The Leftovers" Season 3, but given how HBO has confirmed ordering another season, it won't be long before we see cult-apocalypse TV drama again.
