"Pacific Rim 2" is certainly getting some of Hollywood's hottest young talents in its cast. John Boyega has recently been confirmed as one of the leads while Scott Eastwood is reportedly in negotiations to join the "Star Wars" actor. But wait, does this mean Charlie Hunnam is out of "Pacific Rim 2?"
Will Scott Eastwood Replace Charlie Hunnam In "Pacific Rim 2"?
First, it's time for some "Pacific Rim 2" casting news. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Fast 8" star (and son of the legendary Dirty Harry) Scott Eastwood is in talks to join the cast of the highly-anticipated sequel.
This is great news, except there haven't been any updates as to whether Charlie Hunnam will reprise his role as Raleigh Becket in "Pacific Rim 2".

Did Charlie Hunnam Bow Out Of "Pacific Rim 2"?
Charlie Hunnam is no stranger to magically dropping out of a project. The actor had famously backed out from "Fifty Shades of Grey" to work on "Pacific Rim" back in 2014.
So did Charlie Hunnam decide to step away from "Pacific Rim 2" to work on a new film instead? The actor is already shooting "The Lost City of Z" after wrapping up on "Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur".
It looks like Charlie Hunnam might have a lot of his plate right now, but it does not include "Pacific Rim 2". However, Raleigh Becket's absence could have more to do with the sequel's storyline.
"Pacific Rim 2" Could Take Place In The Future
Well, the future future, that is. According to Collider, John Boyega will portray Stacker Pentecost's son and "Pacific Rim 2" will follow his story. So it looks like Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi and Charlie Day will no longer the film's main focus.
