'Iron Man 4' Release Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Robert Downey Jr. Not Interested To Be Part of Next Installment?

It has long been rumored that Robert Downey Jr. is ready to hang his famous suit up after a couple of featured appearances as Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man in a series of blockbuster films.

But with "Iron Man" being one of the most in-demand characters of the Avengers, fans are crossing their fingers for Robert Downey Jr. to keep his Iron Man suit for there is no better actor to portray Tony Stark then him.

'Iron Man 4' will not be the same without Robert Downey Jr.

If Robert Downey Jr. will not return as Tony Stark for another project as "Iron Man" it is understandable that fans would rather not see the fourth installment than to have another actor play the iconic role.

But after all the whispers and speculations of him not wanting to be Iron Man anymore, Robert Downey Jr. revealed that he is still willing to return as Tony Stark / Iron Man.

While he was promoting "Captain America: Civil War," Robert Downey Jr. shared that he can still "do one more." Meaning, he still wants to be Tony Stark / Iron Man despite rumors that he has no plans in reprising his beloved character.

Although his statement is such a good news to all the "Iron Man" fans out there, it is quite broad though.

Did Robert Downey Jr. mean that he can do another film after "Iron Man 4?" Or he would rather be a part of the Avengers as a whole. Only time will tell.

Robert Downey Jr. to reprise role in future 'Iron Man' and 'Avengers' films

Back in 2014, Robert Downey Jr. himself confirmed that "Iron Man 4" is definitely happening during his guest appearance at the Ellen DeGeneres show.

When Ellen DeGeneres asked him if there will be an "Iron Man 4," Robert Downey Jr. didn't beat around the bush and firmly said "yes!"

As for now, it is safe to say that we will still be seeing Robert Downey Jr. in his famous red suit when “Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1” debuts in 2018 and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2" releases in 2019.
