Overwatch Updates: Blizzard Adds Competitive Mode And Controls On PS4

Blizzard Entertainment recently updated the newest video game "Overwatch." The company added the highly anticipated competitive mode on Xbox One and PS4 consoles. It was revealed that in order to get the "Overwatch Competitive Play" mode, the players need to reach level 25 first.

Once the set level has been achieved, the console will automatically show the competitive mode which can be found under the "Play" button. For more info and detailed instruction about the new play mode, Blizzard wrote a "How to Get Started" article on its Overwatch website.

Incidentally, although the Competitive mode is still quite new, many players lamented that they are already having issues with playing "Overwatch" in the new mode. The players using PS4 explained that they were being penalized even though they did not quit or leave the game early, as per the Competitive mode rules.

Some players get disconnected due to network issues and the game assumes that the momentary disconnection means the player already left or quit. Penalized gamers lose skill points or gets banned so the glitch is frustrating for "Overwatch" fans.

In response to the complaints, game director Jeff Kaplan told users that the studio is already working on fixes and they are hoping that it will be ready by next week, Daily Star UK reported.

"We're super sorry you had a bad experience. I know this won't be much of a consolation, but we're working on a bunch of fixes to the way disconnecting/losing/leaving works right now. We're hoping to have fixes in soon. Again, apologies. We'll try to make things better," Kaplan said.

Blizzard already solved some issues and some of these PS4 patch notes include the fixing of bug that prevents gamers from leaving as a group. Improvements on how AI heroes react to each other were implemented and other tweaks were done to make the performance across the game better.

Lastly, players cannot be revived in out-of-play areas on Ilios. On the map, the problem with collisions on areas, particularly in Dorado, is also fine now.
