BIGBANG consists of five members. G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong), T.O.P. (Choi Seung-hyun), Taeyang (Dong Young-bae), Daesung (Kang Dae-sung), and Seungri (Lee Seung-hyun). New and old K-pop bands come and go but BIGBANG has always been consistent in their performances and success since 2006!
With other K-pop group disbanding after reaching five years together, BIGBANG seemed to have passed this K-pop band curse swiftly.
And instead of facing troubles, BIGBANG even became more successful as a group, as duos, and as individual artists after reaching the 5-year mark, adding actor, model, host, and entrepreneur to their already impressive resume.
BIGBANG 2016: Forbes Celebrity 100
Forbes revealed that BIGBANG has earned enough in the past year to be included in their Celebrity 100 list, landing the 54 spot and making BIGBANG the first ever Korean pop artist to be in the coveted list.
The site also revealed that BIGBANG earned more than the famous American band Maroon Five, that shocked one of its members, G-Dragon.
“We made more than Maroon 5?” the 27-year-old BIGBANG leader, rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer and fashion icon said. “Did not know that. My mom is in charge of my earnings.”
BIGBANG also beat other big names like Dr. Dre and Jimmy Buffett.
BIGBANG 2016: The Best Artist From The World
As if being in the Forbes Celebrity 100 is not enough, BIGBANG was recently crowned as The Best Artist From The World at the 2016 Italian MTV Awards!
BIGBANG got the final nod for the title at Florence, Italy, beating Avril Lavigne, Ariana Grande, The Kolors and more.
BIGBANG is definitely not a newbie when it comes to winning awards as they consistently dominate the charts and award shows both locally and internationally for a decade now.
BIGBANG will celebrate their 10th anniversary next month.
