Gamescom 2016 Latest News & Update: Bandai Namco To Announced New Games and IP This August

Gamescom 2016 is all set to kick off this August in Cologne, Germany with Bandai Namco promising some new stuff for gamers. A brand new game headlines the list alongside sequels in “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” and “Tekken 7”.

But the most intriguing part of what Bandai Namco has planned could be that new Intellectual Property (IP). Along with the mystery new game, both will be catered to the Western audience. Details have been cut off for now which means that gamers will have to keep tabs on Gamescon 2016 from Aug. 18 to 24.

Let the guessing game begin

Bandai Namco has been home to a lot of popular game titles and rarely renders new IPs. Aside from the two sequels set to debut for the company, it will be interesting to find out who will be the newest member of the fold.

Aside from “Dark Souls”, “Tekken” and “Dragon Ball Xenoverse”, Bandai Namco is also credited behind “Tale Of”, “One Piece”, “Naruto Shippuden” and “Soul Calibur”.

A possible racing game could be feasible seeing how “Ridge Racer” has fallen out of circulation. Based on the list of IPs above however, that would depend on their outlook.

Bandai Namco executive excited

Apparently Banda Namco has proven its mark as far as fighting games are concerned. They could be prepping to cover new niches, racing or even action-adventure games included. It could be anything but based on Bandai Namco’s marketing chief Herve Hoerdt, the mystery title is something to look forward to.

From a general perspective, the fact that Bandai Namco has something special in store could spur some interest. Microsoft will not be holding a briefing and such could be the same for Sony. Electronic Arts is another company that is being closely monitored.

With most companies opting to stay mum or having meager plans, the setting could be perfect for Bandai Namco to take the spotlight.
