Marvel capped off their San Diego Comic-Con 2016 panel with the announcement of Brie Larson portraying the role of "Captain Marvel." Marvel Studios finally confirmed the rumors that Brie Larson got the titular role and she's the perfect choice.

Brie Larson As 'Captain Marvel'

Fans went crazy when Marvel Studios revealed sneak peeks for their upcoming films such as "Doctor Strange" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming," and even more so when they finally confirmed that the studio has decided to choose Brie Larson as the first ever "Captain Marvel."

According to Screenrant, Captain America (Chris Evans) himself expressed positively to the news that Brie Larson will portray as "Captain Marvel." Earlier on, GamenGuide reported that Larson is rumored to be Marvel's top choice. It turns out that it actually did.

While the lead role for "Captain Marvel" has been decided already, Marvel Studios hasn't announced yet who will helm the film. Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman were already known to pen the screenplay.

After officially announcing who will portray "Captain Marvel," Marvel Studios also released the official logo for the film. Check it out below.

"Captain Marvel," normally known as Carol Danvers is expected to make her first appearance in an earlier Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) then the superhero will have her own film in 2019. No further details were revealed.

Brie Larson Accomplished Marvel's Very High Bar

CinemaBlend sought Marvel President Kevin Feige after their panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 to learn more details behind Brie Larson's casting in "Captain Marvel." Feige gushed how perfect Larson is for the role.

"Listen, we set the bar very high with the first casting decision we ever made with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark," he explained. After which, every casting decisions were based on that very high standard. "Captain America" is no exception.

He further explained that "Captain Marvel" should be at par with the best characters in MCU. This is to deliver or exceed people's expectations from Marvel. He ended that Larson Brie has all that covered.
