The "Paranormal Activity" franchise is back to haunt homes this Halloween season.
Paramount Pictures released Thursday their new trailer of its latest "Paranormal Activity 4" that will explain the reason why "It has all lead to this," film trailer said.
This is the fourth installment of the franchise. The first movie was a released in 2009 that told the story of a couple, Katie and Micah. The wife thinks the new home they brought was haunted and documents it. It eventually posses her and makes her kill the husband.
The next one is a prequel. "Paranormal Activity 2" adds more people, Katie's sister Kristi and her family. Kristi becomes possessed and Katie kills the whole family. She escapes with Kristi's baby -Hunter -- and their whereabouts are not known.
"Paranormal Activity 3" shows the early relation of Katie and Kristi with the spirit. It shows the young girls in interaction with the evil spirit.
"Paranormal Activity 4" will be a direct sequel to the original by Oren Peli.
The movie is set after five years after the disappearances of Katie and Hunter. The movie follows the story of Alice and her mother. Their life is changed forever when Katie and Hunter (who was kidnapped by Katie, now known Robbie) become their neighbors.
The movie uses new and modern gadgets like HD camera, better night visions and most interestingly an Xbox Kinect. The movie continues using the popular found footage. A laptop is the main point of view in the film.
The directors of PA3 -- Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost -- are back to directing the franchise.
Katie Feathersotn will reprise Katie's role.
