'Doom' Cheats, Tips & Tricks: 'Unto The Evil' First Multiplayer DLC Release Date; How Premium Map Prevents Splitting Players Up

"Doom" has a new feature, called PartyPlay, which will keep players from splitting up. Some of the old multiplayer game rules will still apply, but friends can at least enjoy playing the game together.

A new "Doom" trailer was featured, teasing the next free update and DLC pack. The free "Doom" update will arrive on July 29, 2016, which includes a couple of new modes, playable on current and future maps. The first mode, Exodus, is a single-flag capture-the-flag game, with a constantly moving flags and team bases. The second mode, Sector, is a territory mode where players attempt to capture zones and maintain control over these.

According to GameSpot, the July 29 free "Doom" update will include a new SnapMap functionality, new modules, new weapons, customizable weapon wheels, jump pads, the playable Mancubus demon and more. PCGamer reported that game developer id Software will also launch the first "Doom" DLC pack, titled "Unto the Evil," which has three new multiplayer maps.

Other inclusions are the EMG Mark V pistol, the Harvester demon, the Kinetic Mine, armor and hack modules, among others. All the new available content can be used in existing maps and modes. The "Doom" DLC pack will launch on Aug. 5, 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, priced at $15.

Generally, when "Doom" receives premium DLC maps, the player base is split up. Gamers who own the DLC cannot play with those who do not have it, except only on servers that run the original maps. The new "Doom" PartyPlay feature will let players without the DLC play on the DLC maps, provided that they are in the same party as a player who has the DLC. The special feature in "Doom" will be included in the "Unto the Evil" DLC pack on August 5.

id Software is set to introduce the full list of detailed adjustments in August 2016. The "Doom" season pass will include the "Unto the Evil" DLC, priced at $14.99.
