Will The Series Replace "Game Of Thrones" Time Slot?

"The Leftovers" is set to comeback in the first quarter of 2017 and now there are some reports on exactly when and what time will the show premiere. According to Slashfilm, the president of HBO Programming Casey Bloys, was asked recently at the TCA press tour about the return of series "The Leftovers."

According to him, the casts and crew are now in Australia for shooting and could see a possibility that they will be replacing the "Game of Thrones" time slot. Fans already showed their disappointment as the series "Game of Thrones" will not be returning next year due to production delays with their season 7.

The said series usually premieres during April and airs until June. This could probably mean that "The Leftovers" will be premiering on April next year

How The Story Will End

Before this upcoming season starts filming, the shows co-creator Damon Lindelof and company already figured out how they wanted the series to end. In an interview with Deadline, Lindelof explained

"And then, on a storytelling level, what happens, what feels like finality in a show that has never been about resolving mystery and delivering conclusive endings, now that the show is actually going to end? And how do we want the audience to be feeling when it's all over?" Then he added "So, those conversations started in a very abstract way and as they developed became much more coherent and sort of formed themselves into 'OK, we know what that last scene is, now, how are we going to get there?'"
