Adele's ‘Skyfall’ Released in Time for James Bond's 50th Anniversary (Listen)

Adele's new theme song for the new James Bond movie "Skyfall" debuted Thursday and has started circulating online.

"This is the end. Hold your breath and count to 10," sings Adele. "Feel the earth move and then hear my heart burst again."

Adele's vocals are flawless, her voice silky-smooth, reminding of Shirley Bassey's song for "Goldfinger" and "Diamonds Are Forever."

This is Adele's first studio recording in 18 months after her hit "21" that won her six Grammy Awards in 2012.

A 77-piece orchestra accompanies her sultry voice. The song was produced by Paul Epworth, wh also co-wrote the piece with the 24-year-old songstress. It was recorded at the famous Abby Road Studio.

"I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for 'Skyfall,'" said Adele in a statement announcing the song's debut, to Billboard. "There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end."

Previous artists who recorded for Bond movies include Paul McCartney, Nancy Sinatra, Duran Duran, Tom Jones, a-ha, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow and Madonna.

The launch of the song coincides with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise debut. The song will be available at U.S. iTunes stores from Monday.

The film,"Skyfall," is directed by Sam Mendes and will be released in theatres Nov. 9 in the U.S. and Oct. 26 in the UK.
