How cool would it be to see X-Men and The Avengers trying to save the world together?
For "X-Men" franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner the collaboration would be a dream.
"I would love it. I would love it. I personally have close ties to Marvel because of Kevin Feige, because Kevin worked for me," Donner said in an interview to Crave Online. "But to take our characters and mingle them in the way that they were written, yeah, absolutely."
This might be a possibility in the future.
Joss Whedon, writer and director of "The Avengers," should be pleased with the idea, considering he has written 25 issues of "Astonishing X-Men," all of which were critically acclaimed.
Fox's Marvel consultant Mark Miller should also be supportive. He's written "Marvel Civil War," "Ultimate X-Men" and "The Ultimates" (Ultimate version of The Avengers).
"The Avengers" has been the "biggest comic book film of all-time," according to a report by Screen Rant. It's also the third highest grossing movie of all time, coming behind James Cameron's "Avatar" and "Titanic," respectively, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Screen Rant points out that in the comic book world, all characters share a similar space while fighting, either together or against each other. When it comes to films, however, the problem of casting all the characters together crops up, because the licenses of different characters has been given to different studios.
"The Wolverine" hits theaters July 26, 2013. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" hits theaters July 18, 2014.
"Iron Man 3" releases May 3, 2013 and "Thor: The Dark World" will hit screens Nov. 8, 2013. "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will be released April 4, 2014, "Guardians of the Galaxy" Aug. 1, 2014 and "The Avengers 2" May 1, 2015.
