New information regarding Windows Phone 8 has reportedly emerged. The new Windows Phone 8 will be available for pre-orders Oct. 21 in the U.S.
The Verge reported that its source in AT&T and Microsoft said national carrier AT&T will start taking pre-orders Oct. 8 onward. AT&T's Windows Phone 8 includes HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 920. Samsung's Ativ Smart PC and the Asus Vivo Tab RT will also start taking pre-orders Oct. 21 onward. While its final launch will be Oct. 26, it will also be sold through AT&T. According to the report, Windows Phone 8 will be available in November.
While the Nokia Lumia 920 will be exclusive to AT&T, Nokia Lumia 820 will be available on carriers like T-Mobile USA and AT&T. The Lumia 920 and 820 will run on 4G network. Lumia 920 reportedly has features like PureMotion HD+ 4.5 inch display (1280 x 768 resolution), Dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, NFC chip, 2,000mAh battery, and Qi wireless charging.
Microsoft declined to comment on the pre-order dates but issued a statement saying, "Windows Phone 8 phones will be available to customers later this year."
T-Mobile announced that it will be carrying the Lumia 810 that features 4.3-inch OLED WVGA Clear Black display, 800x480 pixel resolution, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera with Skype HD, 1GB RAM, 1,650mAh battery and the Windows Phone 8 operating system.
November will see a rush in new devices which incorporate Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 8.
The official launch date for Windows Phone 8 is Oct. 29. The pricing for these devices have not been made available. AT&T is also pushing in notebooks and tablets with Windows 8 or Windows RT Oct. 26, SlashGear reported.
