Although the rumors are strong that Charlie Hunnam will not be seen in the coming "Sons of Anarchy" prequel, the 36-year-old has two new upcoming movies. The screenwriter stars "The Lost City of Z" along with Robert Pattinson and the remake of 1973 film "Papillon" with Rami Malek.
'Papillon'
Director Michael Noer is trying his best to secure the "Mr. Robot" star Rami Malek and Charlie Hunnam to lead the remake of "Papillon." In fact, Flickering Myth reported that the Egyptian-American actor is already in discussion with the people behind the classic film to join the "Pacific Rim" star.
It has been said that the planned remake of "Papillon" will be a "contemporary retelling." Rami Malek is set to play the role of Dustin Hoffman as Louis Dega and Charlie Hunnam will take the character once portrayed by Steve McQueen as Henri Charriere.
'The Lost City Of Z'
Meanwhile, aside from "Papillon," Charlie Hunnam will also be seen alongside Robert Pattinson in the movie "The Lost City of Z." The upcoming action adventure biographical film will officially release at the 54th New York Film Festival in October, as per Gossip Cop.
"The Lost City of Z" is based on the book by David Grann and will tackle the story of the known British explorer Percy Fawcett, who will be played by Charlie Hunnam. The artillery officer is renowned for his effort to locate the legendary city of Amazon but he inexplicably vanished while in the expedition.
Robert Pattinson, on the other hand, will play the role of Percy Fawcett's close friend and explorer alike Henry Costin. "The Lost City of Z" also stars Sienna Miller as Nina Fawcett and Tom Holland as Jack Fawcett. The film is directed by James Gray, produced by Brad Pitt and set to be released on Oct. 27.
