There are talks that the Xbox One S 2TB will no longer be restocked by Microsoft. Players will have to wait for further announcements whether the company will stay true to its word in limiting its total availability.
The Xbox One S 2TB gaming console was recently launched as a redesign of the Xbox One, featuring a sleek white body and controller with a storage capacity of 2TB. However, Microsoft intended for the platform to have a limited release and the Xbox One S 2TB is currently out of stock in most retailers. The Xbox One S 2TB had a retail price of $399 and became available in the first week of August 2016.
Digital Spy reported that many gamers wanted the Xbox One S 2TB because it was slimmer and had a more powerful processor than its predecessor. The console can also play 4K videos and Blu-ray. Its compact size and more powerful make immediately garnered the attention of players. Having 2TB of hard drive space was also a plus, allowing gamers to download and save more of their favorite titles. There are still a few Xbox One S 2TB models available in certain retail stores and on the internet, although these may be offered by third-party sellers at higher prices. Some models were reportedly at least $600.
Eurogamer.cz revealed that Microsoft does not intend to restock the Xbox One S 2TB. Now, players can only opt for the Gears of War-themed special edition which has a steeper retail price of around $520. The unique model still features 2TB of hard drive with a catchy blood red color and "Gears of War' design.
The newer model, which is bigger than the Xbox One S 2TB, will arrive in limited numbers in October 2016. Fans of the Xbox One S 2TB can also opt for smaller Xbox One S consoles with a storage capacity of either 500GB or 1TB. These are rumored to launch later in 2016 or sometime in 2017.
