'Destiny' Latest News & Updates: New 'Rise of Iron' DLC Introducing An Arena Mode

Good news, "Destiny" fans who want to do something new in the game: the MMORPG's latest expansion due next month, "Rise of Iron," is putting up a new arena in the game, called Archon's Forge. It promises to be a fun gladiator-style romp for groups looking for a challenge.

Archon's Forge is situated in "Rise of Iron"'s Plaguelands, the big new location "Destiny" players get to play in in the expansion. According to Game Rant, Archon's Forge is like the love child of existing "Destiny" arenas Prison of Elders and Court of Oryx.

Here's how Archon's Forge is going to play out: "Destiny" players are going to find a huge flaming fortress-slash-castle-slash-arena in the new Plaguelands area, and when they get inside, they're going to start the instance. Fallen enemies will start spilling out of spawn points located inside Archon's Forge in waves, and players have to team up and eliminate the incoming hordes as fast as they can. That's not all, though—once they get rid of the marauding enemies, they're going to have to kill a huge boss to get all the neat Archon's Forge-exclusive loot, which includes whole armor sets.

It sounds easy, but like all things in "Destiny," it's not going to be that simple. If you die inside Archon's Forge's instance, you'll respawn outside without a way in. So like with other raid-style instances in MMORPGs, you're going to have to take on the Forge instance with a team backing you up, or at least wait for other kind souls to join and help you.

It seems as though the Archon's Forge instance is what "Destiny" players are looking for in their MMORPG, as this mode is very much akin to what you can play in other MMORPGs. The mission seems simple enough, but it's going to be very challenging, so you're going to want to jack up your DPS capabilities in order to make it through. The "Rise of Iron" expansion DLC will be dropping September 20 next month on PS4 and Xbox One.
